BHANU PRATAP

ACTOR | DIRECTOR | ACTING COACH 

Bhanu Pratap was born and brought up in a village in the Jhansi district of Bundelkhand, Uttar Pradesh- the land of the Bundelas, freedom fighter Rani Lakshmibai, and hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand. Coming from a rich folk art background, he grew up watching his father, a folk singer and folk artist, perform on stage. This early exposure naturally drew him towards storytelling and performance.

The Story

Inspired by his father, Bhanu decided to pursue acting professionally at the age of sixteen. Since then, he has been actively practicing theatre and later graduated from the (FTII).

With more than fourteen years of experience in theatre and eight years of screen experience, Bhanu has worked in four feature films, over twenty-five short films, two commercials, and more than twenty-five full-length theatrical productions. His notable works include Ariku, The Flamingos and Other Migratory Birds Tour, Moonless, Gauri, and The Wedding Detective.

 

Bhanu continues to explore and develop a smooth, life-driven approach to acting rooted in human behaviour and observation.

An engineer by education and an artist by passion, Bhanu has been practicing theatre since 2012. Since 2020, he has also been conducting acting workshops, constantly refining his methods, acting skills, and workshop structures. His workshops have helped a wide range of participants, including acting professionals, artists, IT professionals, managers, businesspersons, and students, in shaping both their craft and personality.
