PANKAJ GUPTA

Pankaj joined Salaam Baalak Trust in the year 1999 and completed his formal education while living at the one of the shelter homes. He also started his theatre training in 2007 and pursued it with utmost passion. He has participated in many theatre performances such as street plays, dance, proscenium theatre, playback theatre etc. He considers himself lucky to have worked with very eminent theatre directors of our country.
The Story
He has worked with eminent personalities such as Kapil Dev, Rajeev Gaur Singh, Swaroopa Ghosh, Astad Deboo, Dadi Pudumjee, Dilip Shankar, Varun Narain, Mrinalini, Puneeta Roy, Kiran Deep Sharma and V.K. Sharma, Nilambari Chintamani.
He worked closely with Astad Deboo for over 7 years and travelled the world as a performer with his troupe.
He was an actor in a Bollywood musical production named Jhumroo at Kingdom of Dreams. He has been independently directing the annual play of Salaam Baalak Trust (SBT) since 2015.
Also worked for Dramabaaz Company, other NGO and Theater Academy in Delhi NCR.
Pankaj represented India in an International Festival named 2014 In Tin Forest Theater Festival, and in 2016 Home/Away organised by National Theatre of Scotland in Glasgow, United Kingdom under The Yuva Ekta Foundation. He also has done few mainstream Bollywood films namely Oye Lucky Lucky Oye, Road to Ladakh, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, Pahar Ganj, Pukam Pukai ( Dupki ), Batti Gul Meter Chalu and web series "Delhi Crime" and Dahaad.
Pankaj worked as acting coach for 3 international movies, The Braid directed by Laetitia Colombani, short film The Fog Catcher by AVI Kabir and Anuja directed by Adam J. Graves. Anuja was nominated for Oscar in the year 2025.
